You’re probably wondering what the hell I’m talking about with the title of this article right? How can a low-budget zombie-filled short film be in line to be adapted thanks to the Academy Awards? Well check it.
The news comes our way from the guys over at The Playlist, which states that director Spence Susser is planning on adapting his short film I LOVE SARAH JANE into a feature. How did this come about thanks to the Oscars? Well you see Susser is currently working on a flick called HESHER, which stars Academy Award winner Natalie Portman. So it seems thanks to her win the other night interest in Susser, and therefore I LOVE SARAH JANE, has grown. But that’s not all!
Blue-Tongue Films are the ones behind I LOVE SARAH JANE. They are also the studio that brought us ANIMAL KINGDOM, which Jacki Weaver scored a Supporting Actress nod for. David Michôd, who penned ANIMAL KINGDOM, also co-wrote I LOVE SARAH JANE with Susser. So there’s your history lesson.
I LOVE SARAH JANE is a simple story of young love in a zombie-infested, post-apocalyptic world.
