Zoolander sequel is still alive and planning to unleash Magnum

Things looked grim for the return of vacuous pose-striker Derek Zoolander. Although a ZOOLANDER sequel had been seriously discussed recently, last week Ben Stiller made a comment that the project could fall victim to shallow studio pockets.

Frightened by the prospect of a world without more of the aging supermodel and his range of expressions, Movieline got in touch with the theoretical project’s writer-director Justin Theroux for an update.

Today and yesterday I was with Ben, and today, we continued to break story,” Theroux said. “I have not gotten word from anyone to put pencils down, so I am continuing as though we are proceeding with that film.”

While they’re still hammering out the story, the current plan is to reunite Stiller’s mobile fashion punchline with Owen Wilson’s butterscotch stallion to face new villain Jonah Hill.
