Check out James Franco in some teaser art from Sam Raimi’s Oz, The Great and Powerful!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

The last update we got regarding Sam Raimi’s OZ, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL came back in December when we learned that the legitimately ‘great and powerful’ Bruce Campbell might be cameo-ing in the film. Now that’s all fine and dandy… but nothing compared to what I have for you today!

Alright… to be fair today’s update can’t hold a candle to The Chin, but I have your attention, right? Good! Now I’ll give you all a look at the first teaser poster for OZ, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL courtesy of JamesFrancoForever!

This first look at the film comes at us in an Italian teaser poster. What we get on said poster is a large look at James Franco as the titular ‘Oz.’ Now unfortunately the shot is nothing worth writing home about… though I do like his hat. Just scroll on down below to get a look at the goods for yourself. From the looks of it the film might also be shortening it’s title (thankfully!), though that hasn’t been confirmed.

“Oz The Great and Powerful” imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

Along with Franco the fantasy film also stars Mila Kunis (below), Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Abigail Spencer, Zach Braff and Joey King. Start your journey down the yellow brick road on March 8, 2013.
