NSFW Prometheus concept art shows the chestburster scene as originally planned

Coinciding with screenwriter Jon Spaihts' discussion of how his PROMETHEUS draft differed from the final product, we now have concept art of what his chestburster scene would have looked like. It sports the teensiest sliver of penis, so you should assume it's NSFW to avoid another meeting with those jerks in Human Resources.

Here's refresher of what Spaihts' chestbursting scene would have entailed from the man himself:

"I did have facehuggers in my original draft. David, as he began to get fascinated by the science of the Engineers, doesn't deliberately contaminate Holloway with a drop of black liquid. Instead, Holloway hubristically removes his helmet in the chamber, is knocked unconscious, facehugged and wakes up not knowing what had been done to him, and stumbles back into the ship. In my draft, he returns to his cabin, is embraced by Shaw, who is delighted to see him having feared that he had died, and the two of them make love. And it's while they're making love that he bursts and dies. So that lovemaking sequence echoed my original lovemaking sequence where he explodes! It was messy."

Sounds cool, right? Well, check out a visualized version of that below. While the finished, Lovecraftian Holloway-Shaw alien baby is adequate, I would have loved to see it burst from the guy's chest while mid-coitus with the beautiful Noomi Rapace (also pictured below). It would have been all sexy, weird and Cronenberg-y, though perhaps too much so for Sir Ridley. Take a look below and decide for yourself, PROMETHEUS fans.

Extra Tidbit: I want more of the proto-Xenomorph from the very end. 'Cause that's gonna grow up to be a big-ass alien.

Prometheus, despite its issues that people can't seem to get past, is still a really well done and (i'll say it) Oscar worthy film. There's only 2 other films this year I liked more, and they are completely different films .That scene would have been cool, but what we got still worked very well.

I do love Prometheus faults and all. I'm happy with the chestburtser version we got but I can't deny Spaihts version sounds equally awesome with some great touches. I have high hopes for the sequel.
