There's a new boogeyman seeking to haunt the nightmares of horror fans everywhere. Robert Bowery, the CHILD EATER, is a frightening ghoul who takes the eyes from children and consumes them. If that won't make you sleep with one eye open (maybe both?), who knows what will? (Actually, you might be better off keeping them tightly shut.)

To celebrate the film's release on VOD, digital and DVD, we have an exclusive clip to share, with accompanying words from director Erlingur Thoroddsen.

CHILD EATER's synopsis:

In Child Eater, little Lucas (Colin Critchley) goes missing from his bedroom in the middle of the night, his babysitter Helen (Cait Bliss) ventures out into the deep, dark woods armed only with a flashlight. But these are no ordinary woods. They were once the home of Robert Bowery (Jason Martin), a serial killer who years ago came for children's eyes in order to keep himself from going blind. But Robert Bowery was stopped and killed… or was he?

Here's what Thoroddsen has to say about this spooky sequence:

This was a particularly awesome — as well as challenging — scene to shoot for a lot of reasons. We got to play with deep, dark shadows and silhouettes here, which is always a lot of fun.

To me, there was something very primal and nightmarish about a little kid racing through a dark, seemingly endless, tunnel. He doesn’t know what lies ahead, just that there’s a slow-moving but unrelenting specter of death coming after him. Colin Critchley, who plays the little boy, did a great job of bring that adrenaline-type terror to life. And Jason Martin, who plays Robert Bowery, the villain, looks and feels like evil incarnate, which probably made it all the more easier for Colin!

The “fun trivia” / movie magic part of this sequence is the fact that it was shot in three completely different locations: the stairway, the basement and the tunnel are all miles apart in real life!

Produced by Perri Nemiroff and Luke Spears, CHILD EATER is available March 28th – today – via VOD, Digital and DVD. Order your copy right HERE!
