Cool Horror Videos: The Exorcist sitcom mash-up

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine who, despite a very clear aversion to horror, went ahead and read William Peter Blatty’s THE EXORCIST. For some reason, he came away from it more amused by the novel’s black comedy than anything else, specifically the possesed Regan’s penchant for profanity-laced dialogue. While I thought him a smidge crazy for it given the context of the film, after seeing THE EXORCIST sitcom mash-up I can sort of see where he’s coming from.

Yes, it’s THE EXORCIST re-invisioned as an 80s sitcom. The makers justify their choice by positing the iconic film as “… like Small Wonder with a Satan-infused child instead of a robot to begin with. Who knew that all that was missing from William Friedkin‘s horror classic was a laugh track?” It’s funny as hell thanks to said track, a cheesy intro, and wonderful retro commercials peppered throughout. Soak up the yucks and projectile pea soup below.
