Deadwood’s Ian McShane added to cast of Bryan Singer’s Jack The Giant Killer!

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

So what’s up with Bryan Singer’s JACK THE GIANT KILLER? Is it simply going to be a dark reimagining of the Jack and the Beanstalk fairytale or a remake of the 1962 film of the same name? Or will it pull from the four other films with the same title? We shall see…

In the meantime, Variety is reporting another heavyweight name has been added to the predominantly British cast. The name? One Ian McShane!

While no details for his character have been given, McShane (above) joins an impressive cast that includes Ewan McGregor, Nicholas Hoult, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy, John Kassir, Eleanor Tomlinson (below) and Lee Boardman. Not too bad indeed!

From a script by Singer’s longtime pal Christopher McQuarrie, Jack the Giant Killer is a scary revisionist take on the Jack and the Beanstalk mythology and follows a farmer who leads an expedition into the giants’ kingdom to rescue a kidnapped princess.

Catch the new spin on the age old tale sometime in 2012.
