Padraig Reynolds’ creature feature RITES OF SPRING is finally upon us, and to help prepare you we’ve got an EXCLUSIVE clip from the film! Hopefully the sight of blood and the harsh sound of shrieks aren’t too much for you in the morning, because this scene has got them both in spades.
Starring AJ Bowen, Anessa Ramsey, Sonny Marinelli and Katherine Randolph, RITES OF SPRING goes like this: A group of kidnappers abduct the daughter of a wealthy socialite and hide out in an abandoned school in the middle of the woods. But feelings of guilt soon overtake the kidnappers, dividing the group and putting their entire plan in jeopardy. The evening further spirals out of control when their poorly chosen hideout becomes a hunting ground for a mysterious creature that requires springtime ritualistic sacrifices.
New Yorkers: director Padraig Reynolds will be in NYC today, Friday the 27th at the IFC Center (323 6th Avenue New York, NY 10014) for a Q&A after the midnight screening.
RITES OF SPRING hits theaters and will be available nationwide on IFC Midnight Cable VOD and Digital Outlets (SundanceNOW, iTunes, Amazon Streaming, XBOX Zune, Playstation Unlimited) starting JULY 27.
