First official stills for Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo are here

We’ve seen posters, and character profiles, well now you can see the first official stills from David Fincher’s THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO.

If you were hoping to get a better look at Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander, you are in luck! The two of the three new pictures feature the actress, you can check her out below.

The film will be coming to theatres on December 21st, based upon the novel by Stieg Larsson. This is not a remake, but rather Fincher and scribe Steven Zaillian making their own interpretation of the novel without disregarding what has come before it.

One fateful day several years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared off the secluded island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger family. There was no corpse, no witnesses and no evidence. Nearly forty years later, investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) reluctantly accepts the unusual and seemingly unsolvable assignment of finding out what really happened to Harriet. Genius hacker, Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) is drawn into the case and the two form a fragile alliance as they dig into the sinister past of the Vangers and find out just how far they’re prepared to go to protect themselves and each other.

Mara stars along with Daniel Craig, Stellan Skarsgaard, Christopher Plummer, Robin Wright, Embeth Davidtz, Joely Richardson and Steven Berkoff.
