Patrick Lussier and Shutter Island scribe Laeta Kalogridas team for sci-fi epic

DRIVE ANGRY and MY BLOODY VALENTINE helmer Patrick Lussier is blasting off to the outer reaches with SHUTTER ISLAND screenwriter Laeta Kalogridas for an untitled sci-fi epic for Skydance Pictures, the production company behind MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL and TRUE GRIT.

Naturally, the plot details are under wraps right now. All we know about it is that it’s a “an original science fiction adventure” based on an idea hatched at Skydance. Yeah, I wish I had more to tell you, too…

There’s no telling why these two rather different writers have teamed together, but that’s how Hollywood goes sometimes, I suppose. Of course, we’ll let you know more when we get that intel…
