Another reason to get excited about THE ORPHANAGE director Juan Antonio Bayona’s big-screen adaptation of Patrick Ness' A MONSTER CALLS is the new addition of Sigourney Weaver who will join both Felicity Jones and Liam Neeson in the film, reports THR. That’s a winning combination right there. Neeson will be playing the all important titular monster while Weaver will take on the role of the grandmother to the boy who attempts…

…to deal with bullying at the hands of his classmates, and his mother's terminal illness, by escaping into a fantastical world through the guidance of a tree monster.

A MONSTER CALLS has been slated for an October 14, 2016 theatrical release.

Executive producers are River Road’s Bill Pohlad and Mitch Horwits, Participant’s Jeff Skoll and Jonathan King, and Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-chairman Patrick Wachsberger.
