At this point, a week just wouldn't feel complete if it didn't feature a heaping helping of casting news for THE BELKO EXPERIMENT, the James Gunn-scripted thriller that begins filming today in Bogota, Colombia with WOLF CREEK director Greg McLean behind the camera. So it seems quite fitting that Gunn kicked off the week with a four-for-one blowout casting announcement.
Joining previously announced John Gallagher Jr., Tony Goldwyn, Adria Arjona, Michael Rooker, Melonie Diaz, John C. McGinley, Sean Gunn, Owain Yeoman, David Dastmalchian, Gail Bean, Valentine Miele, and Steve Agee as employees of the titular company are Josh Brener (SILICON VALLEY) as hipster tech guy Keith McLure; David Del Rio (PITCH PERFECT) as Roberto Jerez, who works in the graphics pool with Diaz and Bean's characters; Stephen Blackehart (RETRO PUPPET MASTER) as Brian Vargas, an interpreter without many ties to friends or family outside the company; and Rusty Schwimmer (JASON GOES TO HELL) as Peggy Displasia, secretary to Gallagher's character.
THE BELKO EXPERIMENT will show what happens when an
American company in South America is mysteriously sealed off at the beginning of a workday and its employees are ordered to kill each other or be killed themselves. This starts an escalation of violence, where we discover the true nature of each and every Belko employee.
I'm glad this one is finally getting rolling, because I'm ready to see what all these people are going to do to each other.
