I think it's cool if we here at Joblo bring you something a little different and a little off our usual path. Now, we do stick as closely to the world that is movies as we can, and with that I offer you a video directed by Heath Ledger with inspiration from Terry Gilliam for Modest Mouse's "King Rat".

The illustration for the video is wonderful, and it still keeps with that kooky Modest Mouse vibe. Mouse is a hell of a band, one that I think realized the diverse talents of Ledger.

The video is one that could remind someone of mythology, Moby Dick, Grimm Fairy Tales, but also puts a perspective on illegal commercial whaling off the coast of Australia. It's definitely something with the spirit of Gilliam's humor wrote all over it.

It's a tad gory, but that's what happens when you piss off whales. Hats off to Ledger for such an amazing video, and to Mouse for letting us have another piece of art from a great actor gone too early.

Don't forget about Ledger this year in THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS which is directed by Terry Gilliam.

'Why's it the good ones that have to die!?'
It saddens me reading stuff like this and seeing the stuff Heath Ledger did, the guy's career was only just blooming and he would have gone on to give the world some fantastic roles and art such as this. One of the few people who actually was taken before his time.

It would have been a wonderful thing to see where Ledgers career might have gone. This music video was beautiful, even though incomplete.

Its crap just like HL acting was... im sorry but just cause he died doesnt mean im gonna make him out some some great actor.. he was that guy from shitty movies.. an yeah he did the joker but see what happens when he tried to actually act?

How many shitty movies do you think he has? I got one, "The Order", and even in that, he was charming. All his other movies (at least the ones I can actively recall, which I am 99.9% postive is all of them) are at least fun films, and he's always good!

I am not saying you had to love him when he was around, nor now, but you are seriously an idiot if you think he had no talent, and ...

This is pretty unique, though I'm starting to tire of Ledger's ghost.

And yeah, I miss Thoo, one of the truly unique writers on this site. Then again I felt that way about Ben Barna, less so his brother. However, in time I think I'll recognize the respective styles of the new writers. Niki's already starting to break in for me.

sucks thoo isn't writing for joblo anymore. i remember once upon a time i would always recognize the writer of every article and felt secure with their sense of humour and writing style. now it feels like i keep seeign random names and articles with a sense of humour i dont relate to. oh well, least we still have jim law, and if all else fails, we always got the arrow to fail back on

That sucks Thoo's not writing for joblo anymore... many a people bashed him (mostly ANY writer on here) but he was a damn fine writer, and nice sense of humor... RIP Thoo :P

yah it feels a lil odd one day theyre here, the next we here so and so is gone. i wasnt really one way or the other with my opinion of thoo, but his humor got a lil old. (and admittedly mean) its goin to take awhile to get use to the new line up of writers
