Hugh Jackman compares X-Men: Days of Future Past to The Avengers; Plus new pics from The Wolverine

Now that our 3-day weekend has come to an end, it’s time to get back into the swing of things and today Hugh Jackman seems to be the center of attention.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Jackman mentioned how he wondered if they would ask him to do a cameo in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Then after reading an 8 page synopsis of the script including his role, the actor was quite impressed, “I was like, ‘Okay, this is a slam-dunk idea. This, actually, is phenomenal. I think this will be, for X-Men, like The Avengers.’ And I think it is…” Then he went on to discuss how it wasn’t as easy as it once was to get back into shape to take on the character, “I was a little frustrated because I was nearing the end of a 12-to-18 month physical odyssey and getting ready to have Christmas off – and lasagnes. And I’m, unfortunately, not as young as I was, so I have to start earlier and go for longer. So I was like, Okay, we gotta keep going.’ But I’m really excited about it, and I never thought in a million years I would play one character in seven movies.”

Moving on to Logan’s solo film THE WOLVERINE, we’ve got a batch of scans also from Empire. There’s plenty of focus on the rest of the characters like Viper, Yukio and Mariko. The last trailer for the film made things look a lot better than what we first might have thought. I personally enjoyed the international trailer. While I like Silver Samurai, I’m still trying to figure out the angle that they are taking with the character. When I was younger, he always seemed huge but robotic? I don’t know…
