Star Trek Into Darkness motion poster seeps in the creepy with Benedict Cumberbatch

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

I honestly hadn’t paid much attention to Benedict Cumberbatch until recently, which may be the same for many of you.  The actor has been making his presence known in such films as Steven Spielberg‘s WAR HORSE, the British version of Sherlock, the upcoming voice of SMAUG in Peter Jackson‘s HOBBIT trilogy, and now as the main villain in J.J. Abrams STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS.  Billed as John Harrison and speculated as Khan or a number of other possibilities, one thing remains the same; Cumberbatch is awesomely creepy as the bad guy.  And that’s just from the trailers!

Today, we have a look at a new motion poster for the sequel, narrated with the same intense creepiness that’s been so prevalent in the trailers thus far.  The poster builds off of the original teaser and is worth a look just to hear Cumberbatch ooze his evil words.

Check it out:

STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS is no doubt set to be one of the biggest films of the year and rightly so.  A tremendous cast, featuring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Alice Eve, Anton Yelchin, Bruce Greenwood, and Peter Weller, round out a top notch production headed by J.J. Abrams, which promises to deliver the sci-fi thrill we’re looking for this summer.  It’s rare that you get a sequel you can count on.

STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS beams up on May 15, 2013 in IMAX 3D, then on May 17, 2013 everywhere else.
