Action-adventure tale of 1,000 year old man Methuselah to get a complete rewrite from I Am Legend 2 scribe

Animatronic Methuselah

This is… what?

It seems that director James Watkins (THE WOMAN IN BLACK) recently wrote the first draft of a script about Methuselah, a story which “follows a 1,000-year-old man who has used his time on the planet to develop an unparalleled set of survival skills.” Which I guess makes sense, because honestly, what else are you going to do with your time? If you recognize the name Methuselah, it’s probably because he’s the grandfather of Noah and died one week before The Flood rolled in.  Watkins is still on board to direct the movie for Warner Bros.

And now scribe Arash Amel (GRACE OF MONACO) has been commissioned to come in and completely rewrite Watkins’ script after he finishes his work on I AM LEGEND 2.  So that’s definitely happening now, by the way, and is being produced by Akiva Goldsman (writer of I AM LEGEND) and Will Smith.

Hey Hollywood? Please, whatever happens with I AM LEGEND 2, just consider this.
