Bradley Cooper says there will be no A-Team 2

03.10.2011by:

If you were holding out for a sequel to THE A-TEAM, then you might be terribly disappointed with what Bradley Cooper told Empire.

During a webchat, Empire asked if there were any plans for the sequel, “Any news on the A-Team 2? Will there be one? I thought it was great and my friends felt the same.”

What did Face have to say? “I loved it too. But unfortunately, outside of you, a few of your friends and myself, there just wasn't enough revenue to supply a second installment of that franchise.”

Empire broke down the numbers for us: "If you look at the numbers, the US haul clocked in at $77 million, and the rest of the world, $100 million. Its budget was $110, so there’s $67 million there to pay for all the marketing (and there was a lot)." I know several people who really enjoyed THE A-TEAM. No one expected it to be mind-blowing, it was just a fun action flick.

Also it probably didn't help that they released the film during the World Cup...

Extra Tidbit: Did you enjoy THE A-TEAM? Would you even want a sequel?

Maybe the people wants some real action films and no cgi bullshit like A TEAM. The cast was OK, but a flying tank is too much for me. In the year when old school action worked so well in box office (RED, EXPENDABLES) A Team was the stylish PG13 action flick that Im tired of. Maybe a reboot in five or ten years could work...

This is a shame. I thought it was good fun. Anybody who expected a deep emotional film that would win Oscar's and blow you away is a fool. Bradley Cooper is not exactly George Clooney. He's good, funny, and the ladies like him but come on it's the A-Team not Shakespeare.

In a world where we have three, yes THREE, Big Momma movies, no A-Team 2 would be somewhat unbalanced. I didn't expect the first one to be any good but I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it!

I can still hope.

I really liked the first one. I mean, it did make over 60 million in profits, so maybe there will be one. I"ll keep hoping for it. Does Cooper really know what he's talking about?

I'm fine with this

The first one sucked. Some fun action scenes didn't make up for the incoherent plot and horrible CGI.

Good choice...

The chemistry between the actors was great...but the plot stupid (even for a A-team episode), the action-scenes were ridiculous and that CGI-container showdown felt like something right out of a Star Wars prequel! And talking wasted...were was "Howlin Mad Murdock" hiding the last 20 minutes? Oh yeah, well, selling that headshot. Even "The Losers" was way more fun than that crap.

That sucks. I enjoyed the A-Team quite a bit and thought it definitely merited a sequel. I thought for sure, between box office business and dvd/blu-ray sales, it would have made enough for a sequel to be made.

Hell, I was surprised that I enjoyed A-Team. I was hoping for a sequel but it's true, the numbers really don't lie. Ghost Rider made good money for such a crap film. At least the character has potential and given a chance can be a good film. So, Ghost Rider getting a sequel doesn't bother me at all. Things like GI Joe getting sequels are the films that bother me.

Best to leave"The A-Team" as a stand alone feature film. The movie was an appropriate homage to the T.V. series.

That's too bad. I thought the cast flowed quite well together and it left me satisfied. I would've loved a sequel which would've shown their adventures as SOLDIERS OF FORTUNE.

This SUCKS. I loved the first one and thought it was some of the most fun I've had at a summer movie in a long time. It was underrated when it came out and I kept telling friends who skipped it that they were missing out on something really cool. These same people have since watched it on DVD and agreed that I was right all along. VERY sad to hear that it's not coming back.

Fuck the A-Team

Shitty script, ridiculous story, bad acting, bad CGI, uncreative action sequences...And Jessica Biel sucked balls in it, and not in the way we all wish she'd suck balls. Good riddance.

I didn't like it. The goofy ass CGI really bothered me and the story was lame. Sharlto Copley was fun, though.

This sucks. The first one was great and they left it open for a sequel. All the guys were great and had great chemistry among one another.

Movie was over the top, but that's what made it such a fun, good movie.

It would have been nice to see a sequel to this, but I can enjoy as just a stand alone movie. I would have also liked to have seen a sequel to the movie The Losers.

That's too bad all four of them had really great chemistry. FOX marketing fucks up another potential franchise.

For what it was, I thought it was a pretty "entertaining" flick. Obviously way over the top, but again...that's what it was. Biel was completely wasted though.

I'm getting the feeling we'll eventually see a bad strait to DVD prequel though.

Really? Would it only be about Face and Hannibal, because the movie already was a prequel (sorta)

Didn't see the A-Team movie because the franchise did live from the original cast and not from an overscaled action movie.

I really loved the A-Team. It wasn't a good quality movie, but it was exactly what I wanted it to be. Action with good jokes and good times. I really wanted a sequel.

The first was entertaining but very forgettable. Could be neat to see another maybe with a better plot.
