Daft Punk and Brian De Palma have met to discuss a secret project

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

On many a nights around 3AM, you could find me in my room staring at my television watching the video to Daft Punk’s “Around the World”. That thing would pull me in like a track beam for 3 mintues and 55 seconds. I think I would have blacked out if the video was the same length as the cut on the album (7:55). Basically, it’s a fair assessment that I enjoy Daft Punk a little.

As many of you may know, Daft Punk have an album coming out next week titled “Random Access Memories”. It’s streaming now on iTunes if you want to check it out before you make a purchase. You also might find it worthwhile that the group comprising of Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo have met with Brian De Palma to “discuss some things”. Before an interview with Pitchfork, this juicy tidbit was leaked out by Bangalter, but he didn’t have any specific information.

It’s known that Daft Punk are fans of De Palma’s PHANTOM OF PARADISE which Paul Williams wrote music for and starred in. Williams recently contributed his vocals to the new Daft Punk album. So we aren’t sure if the group wants to do something similar with De Palma or if it’s something else all together. Maybe they discussed a love for llamas or something.

So I’ll just leave all that information here and let your imaginations run wild.
