Dragon Rain?

Rain to be Bruce Lee?

News has been circulating for a while that Warner Independent Pictures was looking for a way to remake Bruce Lee’s iconic ENTER THE DRAGON, but were waiting to find an appropriate Asian fighting star to not get torn to pieces for soiling the memory of the original Kato.

With the upcoming NINJA ASSASSIN generating tremendous buzz for Korean star Rain, Warner seems to feel their headache might be over. The folks from Latino Review, usually not ones to expose themselves to bloody backlash by spreading empty garbage, report that Rain is indeed negotiating to step in Bruce’s shoes for Warner’s AWAKEN THE DRAGON, with the antagonist and assisting FBI agent roles yet to be filled.

I’m a huge noir fan, and this plot lends itself to the film I want to make,” producer Kurt Sutter expressed. “This will be more ‘Raging Bull’ than ‘Crouching Tiger’ in its viciousness.” In his defense, because I too feel a tad bit irked at seeing ENTER remade, Sutter gave us one badass cop show with THE SHIELD. Dude must know what he’s doing…
