Good call on Rocky being #1. The end of that movie makes me tear up every time I watch it.

Sorry but way to many good movies off this list:

Brian's Song, Remeber the Titans, Slapshot, Major League, Miracle, Friday Night Lights, Caddyshack.

That is just 7 I could think of off the top of my head. I cannot argue most movies on here but Rounders has no place on this list, Kingpin could be debated. But to each their own.

Great 10

It would be tough to get all the sports films in there, there are a lot of grey ones..

However i feel Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius should be in there. Such a good film

I love Kingpin and Rounders is a good movie, but to include them in a list of best sports movies does not make sense especially without including Major League/ Million Dollar Baby/Remember the Titans/Slap Shot/ and Friday Night Lights (the best movie about high school football ever!) This list is a fail.

how do you forget this one....

I think Rounders and King Pin are great, but we could drop one of those for A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN! I mean, Tom Hanks is iconic as Jimmy Dugan. ICONIC! There's no crying in baseball.... THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!!!!

There are some great movies that didn't make the cut on this list... I mean come on, you want to name greatest sport movies and don't include THE HUSTLER, Moneyball, Slap Shot and Warrior... I call it a bad idea :-)

Any Given Sunday is my all time favorite movie....

... everybody I know here in France and Europe loves this movie, it has a cult following, that's pretty amazing considering that we do not give a shit about american football.

Good list but...

Slapshot should be on here. Major League. I'm sort of a fan of The Program as well. The biggest sin is that Caddyshack is missing.

Some questionable choices

I like the post because I love sports movies. That being said there were some questionable choices and major snubs. You could honestly do a top ten in a single sport.

Snubs: Miracle, Moneyball, Tin Cup, Warrior, Bad News Bears, Eight Men Out, Major League, Hoosiers, Remember the Titans, For Love of the Game, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, Slap Shot, The Mighty Ducks, The Program, Mystery Alaska, Blue Chips, Dodgeball, Varsity Blues, Hoop Dreams, 61... And many more.

I like the post though

I like the post though and more than half the movies on it.

Of course, Rocky IS number 1 - a real underdog story. I'd also like to add Rocky Balboa. The climax fight scene was really exhilarating. Aside from that, For The Love of the Game, Tin Cup, Miracle and Slap Shot. However, genre-crossing wise, Sudden Death is a good sports/action movie.
