Exclusive: Feige says Infinity War to be final chapter for some MCU regulars

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

We already know AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR will be a superhero bonanza of biblical proportions, and needless to say certain costs come with such epicness. In this case, INFINITY WAR will mark the end for certain characters in the MCU. Whether this means they will bite the bullet, or just retreat to a vacation home in the Bahamas, we don’t know, but Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige did say to our own Eric Walkuski this this will indeed be the end for certain characters.

This fact was revealed as blunt as humanly possible by Feige when Walkuski asked him if INFINITY WAR will be the final chapter for certain beloved characters:

Yes.

Like I said…

The two biggest characters fans believe are on the chopping block are Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’ Captain America, the two main figureheads of the MCU (and the comics). Walkuski asked him if Marvel has any plans to make any more movies around the characters after AVENGERS 4, and Feige delivered with his classic brand of vague:

We have another two years of hard work to even finish these movies, and they [the actors] have a lot of hard work to do, so thats all we're thinking about, is completing those and delivering on the promise of those. Where it goes beyond that, we'll see.

Feige has probably been getting questions like this left and right, so he’s learned to dodge swings better than Muhammad Ali. But what he does seems comfortable in revealing is that these next two AVENGERS movies will conclude the chapters of some of the heroes we’ve come to love over the years. How many? Who knows, but someone is gonna die, and you better have the hankies ready. In fact, use a Kleenex. Don't be carrying around a wad of boogies.

The first part of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR arrives May 4, 2018, followed by the fourth AVENGERS one year later. Stay tuned for the full Feige interview on MONDAY!
