Fantastic Four concept art shows off Doctor Doom's castle on Planet Zero

08.25.2015

With FANTASTIC FOUR tranking you'd think that we'd stop talking about it and move on to some more worthy film discussion, but no, like a moth to a flame, we just can't step away from the disaster that was Josh Trank's FANTASTIC FOUR. Concept artist Steve Jung (TRON: LEGACY, THE AVENGERS) was involved with the film in its early days and he recently posted some FANTASTIC FOUR concept art on his Facebook page which shows off the kick-ass castle that Doctor Doom (Toby Kebbell) almost had.

Check out the concept art below!

Steve Jung said that he "was on this one early on before all the drama happened...none of my work made it to the movie (kinda glad) since it got changed many times after I left the project. Exploration of the Planet Zero and Victor's castle ideations. Btw the texture of the terrain is cigarette buds from a picture of the director's ashtray." He also added that Victor's castle "is made out of particles so in some places you can see through and Victor is holding everything together in his mind." Would the inclusion of Doctor Doom's Planet Zero pad have improved the film at all? Probably not, but it's always fun pondering what could have been.

FANTASTIC FOUR was released in theaters on August 7, 2015 and...you all know what happened next.

So I haven't seen this movie - never piqued my interest and I didn't want to fund a sequel in any way. But I know Doom goes to Planet Zero with the FF. And then Doom comes back from Planet Zero later int he movie and they have to fight him. So was the idea that Planet Zero would become Latveria? Would it be in a different dimension?

People who actually saw it, did the movie actually keep anything in tact from the comics? Or did they just make up some weird shit and slap the FF moniker

It's just terrible we haven't gotten a really good interpretation of Dr Doom yet.

I think Dr. Doom needs to take a backseat for a while. There are so many great villains, but every F4 just focuses on Doom. I want Super Skrull or someone with at least a chance of showing personality.

Guess Josh Trank is the new Stephen Norrington (who directed the great Blade and not so great The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) whom hasn't Directed anything since LXG.
