First Look: Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe

A Marilyn Monroe biopic has been one of those project that has been talked about for years and years but has never gotten off the ground. But today The Weinstein Co. announced that filming has begun on MY WEEK WITH MARILYN starring Michelle Williams as the legendary actress. Joining Williams in the film are Eddie Redmayne, Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench, Dominic Cooper, Emma Watson and Julia Ormond. The film tells of the time when Monroe, fed up with Hollywood, took off for Britain where she spent a week with Colin Clark, a 23-year-old assistant on THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWGIRL.

Below is the first promotional still of Williams as Monroe. What do you guys think? She doesn’t look exactly like her but enough where it’s believable. And frankly if they found someone who looked exactly like her, they probably wouldn’t have the acting chops that Williams has. I’m not sure about the 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN pose but that’s just me (someone please Photoshop that for me).
