Five Against A Bullet is finally moving forward with Joe Carnahan directing

Five Against A Bullet Joe Carnahan Banner

We haven't heard anything about FIVE AGAINST A BULLET since director Joe Carnahan came onboard, but now he's officially set to helm the action thriller, thanks to Jordan Schur's Suretone Pictures. The film has been added to Schur's new production company's slate of upcoming movies, along with Vincent D'Onofrio's THE KID. Alex Litvak (PREDATORS, 2011's THE THREE MUSKETEERS) penned the original script before Carnahan did a rewrite, and at one point Bruce Willis was attached to star.

Synopsis from Deadline:

Five elite bodyguards are tasked with keeping safe through the elections a mayoral candidate of the most powerful city in Mexico, after the candidate’s father and previous office holder was murdered. An army of cartel hitmen are gunning for the candidate, under orders of the biggest drug cartel kingpin.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who originally brought the project to Sony back in 2011, will produce with Suretone and Mimran Schur Pictures. While there's no details on when filming might start, it sounds like it could be Carnahan's next film, although he's also being eyed to direct BAD BOYS 3, and has been tapped to helm a big screen adaptation of Mark Millar's Nemesis. Which actors would you like to see star in FIVE AGAINST A BULLET?
