Hugh Jackman decides not to sell make-up, would rather spend more time as Wolverine

Aug. 17, 2010by: Niki Stephens

About a month ago, Hugh Jackman jumped on-board for AVON MAN. It centered on former car salesman who reluctantly sells Avon products to support his family. The job at first is emasculating, but later the saleman uses his charms in order to become top-seller. It's getting the "FULL MONTY style" label since the salesman rounds up his overly macho buddies to win a regional Avon sales contest. Will these men be stripping to sale products? I'm not sure.

Well, Jackman has decided to pass on the opportunity to play an Avon salesman. He's still linked to the project because he is a producer on it. Kevin Lima (ENCHANTED) is set to direct.

So what will he do in the meantime? Well, he'll do what he does best-- get back into the adamantium claws as Wolverine to prepare for the follow-up to WOLVERINE: ORIGINS. Jackman will use his time pumping up to get back into shape. This means that Fox will get the film ready for production next year. For REAL STEEL, the actor had to gain 30 pounds to play a washed-up boxer.

I really hope they take their time with Logan's samurai adventures in Japan. As we all know, Christopher McQuarrie (THE USUAL SUSPECTS) is adapting the 1982 Chris Claremont/Frank Miller comic miniseries. The story is spectacular and here's hoping that someone does it some justice.

Extra Tidbit: Jackman has expressed interest in the past about wanting to take on the role of Superman.

GERARD BUTLER AVON CALLING

If WOLVERINE wants to win me over it will cut all ties with ORIGINS and just be a stand alone movie.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T

You gotta' love this guy for having the kind of dedication towards a role that he does. After X-Men : The Last Stand and X-Men Origins, anyone else would have jumped off the wagon and we'd have a new Wolverine...just like a new Hulk, new F4, new Spider-Man, etc. Thanks to Jackman we have ONE Wolverine, and despite the suckiness of the movies themselves, Wolvie kicks ass all the time!

Oh thank fucking God!!!

I'm not getting my hopes too high. Wolfy has always been my fav, but the movies have yet to give him "true justice". But I'll take another Wolverine movie over Avon any day of my life...

Regardless of bit crappy-looking CG, I'm game for another Wolverine movie. The first one wasn't as bad as I thought.

The sequel is not going to be any better than the shitty first film. No way.

I believe in Hugh Jackman, I dont have faith in the people that keep hashing out Wolverine. The Claremont story is one of teh best stories in comics history and do not want to see it fucked up.

Ehhhh...

This scares me. The first Wolverine Miniseries was and is one of my all-time favorite comics, easily beating Watchmen or ANY other critically acclaimed Graphic Novels.
It is one of the most influential pieces of art on my life as I am an illustrator and comic book creator. I still remember to this day seeing the cover of #1 at the drugstore and having my small mind blown that summer afternoon.
I know that there is no way this movie can live up to not necessarily my expectations, but what I

Also, Can't Wait!! Ha ha

I loved the Wolverine movie, despite all the haters. Bring on another.

I think it's more Fox that's screwed the X-Men....

Look at all the films: they're overstuffed and overloaded with mutants. They need to tone it down. I think with "First Class," they went from toned down and simplified to bloated overnight.

Why do we need so many characters. Are Jean and Cyclops going to once again be pushed into the corner to make way for other mutants like the last movies?

I blame Fox and Rothman wholeheartedly for this because they seem to be pushing for more and more. Schuler Donner is the same. She pushes too much.

Hopefully we won't get another "Last Stand" or "Wolverine" with the sequel and "First Class" but the way things are sounding I think Frank Miller's story will probably be 30-40% used while adding in Sabretooth or some other mutant that had nothing to do with the story.

I didn't think any X-Men entry could have been as bad as The Last Stand, Wolverine definitely proved me wrong. I have a feeling the sequel will be even worse than the first.

I didn't hate Wolverine: Origins like some people did. It was because everyone trashed it so much before I saw it that expectations were so incredibly low going in that I could only be impressed. That being said, the Japan storyline is easily Logan's most epic and MUST be done justice. Could be the wolvie flick we've all been dying for.

Also...that Avon man movie sounds kind of funny...I hate to admit it but if it was done right it could be a real crowd pleaser.
