Hugh Jackman gets a son in Real Steel

The search is over for Hugh Jackman’s long lost son in REAL STEEL.

The kid in question is 10 year old Dakota Goyo.

Goyo starred in RESURRECTING THE CHAMP alongside Josh Hartnett and Samuel L. Jackson, as well as taking small roles on several television shows.

The concept of the film was based on a short story from I AM LEGEND author Richard Matheson. The story revolves around a former boxer (Jackman) who decides to become a promoter in a world where robot boxing is popular. When he discovers that he has an 11 year old son (Goyo), the two become closer by training a discarded robot with potential.

That just sounds really silly.

However, Matheson is a great writer and I’m sure the story is actually way better than it sounds. Matheson’s other works include “What Dreams May Come”, “Somewhere in Time”, “Hell House”, “Stir of Echoes”, as well as some episodes of THE TWILIGHT ZONE.
