I Am Number Four and I have glowy blue hands in my new poster

Nov. 30, 2010by:

When D.J. Caruso is on, he delivers good fare such as THE SALTON SEA and DISTURBIA. When he's off, though, we get shit like TAKING LIVES, TWO FOR THE MONEY, and EAGLE EYE. Will his upcoming sci-fi flick I AM NUMBER FOUR help even out the ratio?

For now, all we've got to go on is the film's trailer and this new one sheet that's just been released, featuring star Alex Pettyfer with glowing blue hands. That tone of blue has really come back to sci-fi with a vengeance, huh? SKYLINE, COWBOYS VS. ALIENS, this... and... um, why am I even talking about this?

I AM NUMBER FOUR opens February 18, 2011.

Synopsis: Three are dead. He is Number Four. D.J. Caruso helms an action-packed thriller about an extraordinary young man, John Smith (Alex Pettyfer), who is a fugitive on the run from ruthless enemies sent to destroy him. Changing his identity, moving from town to town with his guardian Henri (Timothy Olyphant), John is always the new kid with no ties to his past. In the small Ohio town he now calls home, John encounters unexpected, life-changing eventshis first love (Dianna Agron), powerful new abilities and a connection to the others who share his incredible destiny. John (Alex Pettyfer) is an extraordinary young man, masking his true identity and passing as a typical student to elude a deadly enemy seeking to destroy him. Three like him have already been killed... he is Number Four.

Glowy Blue Light

Good catch George. Skyline was nothing but blues, whites, and grays. Monsters and Aliens is just the same. They all have this unreal lens flair effect too. Ugh.

I'm gonna be the odd man out and say that this film looks like it could be enjoyable. I'm skeptical, but Timothy Olyphants inclusion helps sway me a little.

I know jack about this movie and will not be seeing it, I just have to say when I look at that poster I think of the video game Prototype, as he looks almost exactly like the main character.

Yeah, while DIsturbia was kinda meh (LaBeouf was good, but still), I'm not sure he's made a genuinely good movie since the off-beat noir "The Salton Sea."

The film looks crap even though I agree, DJ Caruso tends to be surprising.

Also, is it me or does is this poster very reminiscent of the Gran Torino poster ? Ha ha !!

The poster looks okay, but I really can't give anything by the man behind Disturbia a chance.

"an extraordinary young man, masking his true identity"

He should probably try wearing gloves.

This poster reminds me of something. It's like the top half is from Bourne and the bottom half is from The Last Airbender. Not too sure about the movie. Definitely not seeing it in theaters but Caruso has enough good will left for me to catch it on blu.

I really don't know anyone who's excited for this film. The trailer really did nothing for me. I enjoyed Salton Sea and Disturbia so I'm hoping it's better then it looks.
