Inglourious tops Pulp

As if you didn’t already see this coming, INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS has surpassed PULP FICTION as the highest grossing Tarantino flick.

The Weinstein Company was more than happy to announce that INGLOURIOUS has grossed over $108 million in North American box office receipts since it’s release on August 21, 2009. The movie squeaked by with PULP having made $107,966,120 with it’s initial release back in October of 1994.

“We have been Quentin’s biggest fans since the beginning. It was extremely gratifying to see INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS put up such huge numbers. It is a kick ass film from a director who always keeps me and audiences on their toes”, says Harvey Weinstein on the success of the film. INGLOURIOUS impressed a lot of the fans as well. Even our own Moreno who I think at times is a little more than impressed. So much so that he dreams of being a Basterd himself.

Mr. Weinstein says that the success is due to it being first rate and the marketing plan, “It was great working with Biz Stone at Twitter on ‘Inglourious..’ It took the campaign to another level.” If you’re like me, you might have been following The Real Basterds on Twitter. The film was the first to make use of Twitter and other social networking sites directly, even involving Twitter at the LA premiere.
