Intriguing details emerge surrounding Marvel’s Loki TV series

SPOILERS for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. Disney's upcoming streaming service certainly seems to be pulling out all the stops to make sure that it launches with some top-shelf content. In addition several live-action Star Wars TV shows, Marvel Studios will also be getting in on the action as well, and the first series which the company will be making for Disney+ is expected to revolve around Loki, the trickster god played by Tom Hiddleston.

The actor is expected to reprise the role for the TV series, and a recent report from THR spills a few new details on what the Loki series will be about. Loki met his apparent demise (although it wouldn't be the first time) in the opening moments of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR courtesy of Thanos (Josh Brolin), but despite that, THR says that Marvel has found a way around that as their sources have said that the series will "follow Loki as the trickster and shapeshifter pops up throughout human history as unlikely influencer on historical events." Quantum Loki, it could work. "Odin, why haven't I leaped?" In addition to this intriguing tidbit, THR also added that Michael Waldon (Rick & Morty) has boarded the series as creator/executive producer and will also write the pilot episode.

As we know, Loki isn't the only series for Disney+ which Marvel is developing, as they're also working on a series revolving around The Vision (Paul Bettany) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) which is being run by Jac Schaeffer, one of the writers of the upcoming CAPTAIN MARVEL who has also been tasked with penning the BLACK WIDOW movie. There's also another series in the works featuring Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), and it was announced last October that Malcolm Spellman (Empire) was hired to write the series We still don't know all that much about the type of stories which will be told in these new MCU projects, but they'll likely be shorter than the average series as it's expected that they'll be six to eight episodes in length. In the meantime, perhaps we'll get to see Loki once again when AVENGERS: ENDGAME hits theaters on April 26, 2019.
