For those of you avoiding STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS spoilers like the plague, no worries, as I'm not including any in this article.  Rather, this is a discussion on what J.J. Abrams thinks about them, and you might be surprised!  Recently, Carrie Fisher was being honored at the Oscar Wilde awards in L.A. and the director was there hosting. He spoke a little bit about the film regarding all the spoilers that have made their way online.

J.J. Abrams on THE FORCE AWAKENS spoilers:

I can't wait for you to see it. It's been a blast working on this and luckily we have an incredible post-production team. There are always challenges as you go but it's been a complete kick to put this together. We did the best we can to preserve the story for the audience, but it doesn't always work. There are a ton of rumors – some true, some false. But I'm grateful for everyone who would want to read a spoiler because it means that they care and want to see the movie. I know what it feels like, as an enormous Star Wars fan myself.

An interesting take given how secretive Abrams has been in the past with his projects but I suppose when it comes to something as big as Star Wars, there's no hiding the details! I am curious to know if every person who does read up on THE FORCE AWAKENS rumors is planning on seeing the film, though. Most of my good friends would prefer to go in fresh, despite the lackluster prequels.  Speaking of rumors, the only one I'm interested in right now is whether or not he was actually pushing to have the film open this summer! I suppose it was too good to be true, but a fanboy can dream, can't he?

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS opens on December 18, 2015.
