Kevin Feige talks a tale of two Quicksilvers

There's been a mild curiosity as to what the differences will be between the Quicksilver from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and the one to be featured in Joss Whedon's AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. Before FUTURE PAST hit, all we could judge the two buy were their somewhat silly hair and outfits. Bryan Singer's iteration proved to be a crowd favorite, as Evan Peters injected some charisma into his character that has us clamoring for more when X-MEN: APOCALYPSE hits. Now the ball is in Whedon's court, although Kevin Feige doesn't seem to be worried about it.

In regards to whether or they may change the slow-motion effects in light of FUTURE PAST:

No, we're not, and there may be some things that look like that, because he runs really fast, and time slows down if you want to be in his perspective while he's running fast. However, they may as well be two completely different characters.

How Whedon's iteration will vary from Singer's:

We are very much playing up two things that [FUTURE PAST doesn't] play with: one is his relationship with his twin sister, Wanda; the other is, his backstory as an Eastern European child of a war-torn country, and we follow him throughout the whole movie - him and Wanda - as it relates to their feelings about the Avengers and how that shifts and changes over the course of the movie. So it's a very different thing than coming out from one, unbelievably awesome showcase sequence of the movie, and much more interwoven throughout the entire movie.

From the sound of it, the effects showcased for Quicksilver might be similar but obviously they're going for a vastly different approach in terms of storytelling. In any case, I'll doubt there will be any confusion on the part of the audience. It certainly helps that both X-MEN and AVENGERS have a great ensemble of characters to carry their respective stories. There's bound to be a lot of cool footage to come at this year's Comic Con, so be sure to check back to stay up-to-date!

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON will hit theaters on May 1, 2014.

I think there's one Quicksilver we're not taking into account . . .
