If you don't think KICK-ASS was manufactured for controversy, then you must know of other movies featuring a 12-year-old girl who drops the C-bomb and proceeds to messily dismantle grown men.

The new pseudo-superhero flick from director Matthew Vaughn (LAYER CAKE) and comic guy Mark Millar (WANTED) involves an average dude who decides to become a costumed vigilante, but it seems like secondary characters Hit Girl and Big Daddy will be what lures the fanhuman butts to theater seats.

There's something I like about the entire campaign for this movie. It has a Zombieland-like irreverence. Will be watching.

Benchmade is back? Awesome!
This movie looks hilarious... Best part about this trailer - when I was in college, Benchmade announced they were no longer making balisong knives. Hit Girl's present request prompted me to check their site, and they're making them again. After losing both of mine in a move, I just might have to buy one, and the Model 42 she wants looks to be one of the ones I lost. :)

Actually, I think it was just the lower-priced balisongs that Benchmade dropped out of the market for. After looking around, I see multi-hundred dollar models, and none of the sub-$50 models that they sold when I was in college (including a cheaper one that looked a lot like Model 42).

I really like where they're going with this, as it seems to live up to the comic. However, I'm kind of curious how they plan on ending it, since the last issue of the series (thus far) has just about zero closure. I'm assuming, based on some of the extra shots that have little relation to scenes from the comic, that they'll make up an ending. Which is fine, I just want to see someone whoop...

Well, it's official: This is now one of the flicks I'm most looking forward to in '10. I hope the movie is half as entertaining as this teaser. As soon as the Banana Splits song kicked in I was grinning from ear to ear until well after it was over.

Whether or not "Kick-Ass" lives up to the hype, the Hit Girl/Big Daddy aspect has me hooked. It is just wrong on so many levels.

This looks like a pretty special little concoction, but, yeah - some of the action just...ain't quite right, and I wonder if it'll end of being too self-aware for its own good. Looking forward to it though.

they certainly got the right energy. Wolverine didn't have an ounce of that in the trailer. The only thing that rubs me the wrong way right now is that slap-sticky acting... look forward to seeing how it feels in context.

I'm not sold on it at all yet.. I think it could be a good sleeper hit but to call it the movie of 2010? Not even close.



The actress who plays Hitgirl just doesn't do it for me at all... I want to like her so much because the character is fantastic but her voice irks me.

YES! i agree with scamai - usually i dislike cage, but you know what? he seems perfict for this and as for hit gir saying C*** i actually dont mind because the context its used in actually makes it quite funny and is only better in that shes 12. i think this will be a fun ass-kicking movie ( no pun intended.)
