2018 Walt Disney Studios Movie Preview

Once again, Disney reigns supreme as the top grossing studio of 2017 with a domestic haul of $2.4 billion thanks to THOR: RAGNAROK, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2, and STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI. 2018 looks to be another great year for the House of Mouse with SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and THE INCREDIBLES 2 poised to shatter records.

BLACK PANTHER (February 16th)

After the events of Captain America: Civil War, King T’Challa returns home to Wakanda. But when two enemies conspire to bring down the kingdom, T’Challa must team up, as the Black Panther, with CIA agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje—Wakanda's special forces—to prevent a world war.

Starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis. Directed by Ryan Coogler.

A WRINKLE IN TIME (March 9th)

After learning her astrophysicist father is being held captive on a distant planet deep in the grip of a universe-spanning evil, Meg Murry works with her highly intelligent younger brother, her classmate, and three astral travelers to save him.

Starring Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, Storm Reid, Zach Galifianakis, and Chris Pine. Directed by Ava DuVarnay.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (May 4th)

Four years after the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,[1] the Avengers have been torn apart following the events of Captain America: Civil War. When Thanos arrives on Earth to collect the Infinity Stones for a gauntlet that will allow him to bend reality to his will, the Avengers must join forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy to stop him.

SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY (May 25th)

Young Han Solo and his adventures with his Wookiee partner Chewbacca, including their encounter with Lando Calrissian.

Starring Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo and Paul Bettany. Directed by Ron Howard, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

THE INCREDIBLES 2 (June 15th)

Taking place immediately after the first film, the end of which introduces The Underminer, the Parr family struggles to maintain normal lives while Helen Parr, also known as Elastigirl, is out fighting crime. Meanwhile, Helen's husband Bob Parr, also known as Mr. Incredible, remains at home watching their children Violet, Dash, and discovering Jack-Jack's secret powers. However, they, along with Frozone will have to battle a new villain with a sinister plot

Starring the voices of Holly Hunter, Craig T. Nelson, Sarah Vowell and Samuel L. Jackson. Directed by Brad Bird.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP (July 6th)

Set after the events of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, Scott Lang tries to balance his home life as a father with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, when Hope van Dyne and Hank Pym present him with a new mission, requiring him to team up with van Dyne as the new Wasp.

Starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip "T.I." Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, Hannah John-Kamen, Randall Park, and Walton Goggins. Directed by Peyton Reed.

CHRISTOPHER ROBIN (August 3rd)

Christopher Robin, the little boy from the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, is now all grown up and has lost all sense of imagination. Pooh and his friends re-enter Christopher's life to help him find it again.

Starring Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell and Mark Gatiss. Directed by Marc Forster.

THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS (November 2nd)

All Clara wants is a key - a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift from her late mother. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer's annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key, which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It's there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip, a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger, to retrieve Clara's key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world.

Starring Keira Knightley, Mackenzie Foy, Helen Mirren, and Morgan Freeman. Directed by Lasse Hallström.

RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET: WRECK-IT RALPH 2 (November 21st)

Taking place six years after the events of the first film,[2] the story will center on Ralph's adventures in the Internet data space when a Wi-Fi router gets plugged into the arcade as he must find a replacement part to fix Sugar Rush. Along the way, Ralph and his best friend Vanellope von Schweetz encounter new customs, worlds, and characters, such as the trendy algorithm Yesss and the Disney Princesses

Starring the voices of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, Taraji P. Henson, and Alan Tudyk. Directed by Rich Moore and Phil Johnston.

MARY POPPINS RETURNS (December 25th)

Set in 1930s London, Jane and Michael Banks are now grown-up, with Michael still living in the house on Cherry Tree Lane. He lives there with his three children, Annabel, John, and Georgie, and the housekeeper named Ellen. After Michael suffers a personal loss, Mary Poppins comes back to the Banks family with street lamplighter Jack, and eccentric cousin Topsy.

Starring Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Pixie Davies, Joel Dawson, Nathanael Saleh, Julie Walters, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep and Angela Lansbury. Directed by Rob Marshall.
