Meet the Browns trailer

Tyler Perry is up to his old tricks—making tons of money—again. But I realize that in writing that, I’m selling the guy short. He doesn’t make tons of money, he makes films that do. He writes and directs movies that resonate with audiences and for that he deserves all the credit in the world. Wow, I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so sincere. I have to go vomit.

The prolific filmmaker has yet another movie on the horizon, and this one is called MEET THE BROWNS, and is actually based on Perry’s 2004 play of the same name. Angela Bassett stars as a single mother who struggles to raise her three kids and keep them off the street. When she gets notice that the father she’s never met has passed on, she takes the family down to Georgia for the funeral, and that’s when Perry’s knack for meeting-the-eccentric-family kicks in. This thing is sure to open at number one on March 21st. Its biggest competition comes from the Owen Wilson-starring comedy DRILLBIT TAYLOR, which was written by Seth Rogen. But still, don’t underestimate Perry. Check out the trailer HERE.
