More Happening posters

06.09.2008

The folks over at "Hoy Cinema" blog "Movieland" have hit us with three Mexican posters for M. Night Shyamalan's botanical insurrection horror thriller THE HAPPENING. There's the same ominous clouds and crashed cars as one of the previous posters (in fact, one of them is the exact same poster that was released earlier) except with different landmarks and different states of chaos. And, in Mexico, the event in the film isn't "happening" but heralds the "end of times" (it's what the film's Spanish title translates to). In the film, Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel and John Leguizamo realize something sinister is clearly happening when people all over the world start dispatching themselves in creatively gruesome ways. It all happens this Firday (June 13th). Click through to check out the other two posters.

Extra Tidbit:

Update: So, yeah, "El Suceso" seems a little more right. My bad.

The film's literal translation into Spanish would be "El Sucediendo".

Hi! Iīm From Guadalajara, Mexico, and I think that this marketing campaign is pretty good. Itīs different from the rest of other movie campaigns īround here. And weīre not gonna be dissapointed if we go to the theaters and realize that The Happening isn't "Happening" in GDL, Mexico or Monterrey. We Are Smart people! Itīs Just Marketing!

What I think is really stupid is that they include the exact same cars in the same stupid positions.

'The Happening' literal translation into Spanish is 'El Suceso' not 'El Succiendo'. 'El Fin de Los Tiempos' means 'The End of Times' in english. So both are a bit wrong... lol

haha...in spanish it would be "El Sucediendo" not "Succiendo" xD

however, it is titled "The End of Times" instead. Probably because "El Sucediendo" doesn't make any sense in spanish.
