Update: New Line just went ahead and sent us the pics so you can just check them out below instead of having to click through to Kino Express.

A great big thanks to Brendon from over at Film Ick for pointing us towards Kino Express and their recent posting of some new stills of the upcoming fantasy adventure HIS DARK MATERIALS: THE GOLDEN COMPASS because, in this humble news editor's opinion, this flick looks just about ten shades of awesome. The only thing that's been curiously lacking from all these pictures is the soul-in-animal- form daemons. Considering the film won't be released for another eleven months and the daemons will likely be mostly CGI (at least Lyra's shape-shifting Pantalaimon), we probably won't see them for another several months. In any case, get some new looks at Lyra with The Gyptians, Lord Asriel (Daniel Craig), Lee Scoresby (Sam Elliot), and the nefarious Mrs. Coulter (Nicole Kidman) below and by clicking through. The film opens December 7th.

Kick ass! These were great books and this movie doesn't look half bad. mind you the girl playing Lyra has to proove herself to me. she look s way tooo young and not the part but she mgith surprise me. And theo nly proper name is The Northern Lights. the other one is useless and shouldn't deserve mentioning.

Goddamn Kidman is looking hot. I hope this turns out be something more than justa a "Meh, It's nice." type of movie.
