New details on The Force Awakens’ Kylo Ren, Snoke & The First Order

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Adam Driver Andy Serkis Daisy Ridley Banner

Yesterday we got a new look at Adam Driver's Kylo Ren from STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS courtesy of Empire, and now they've released a few quotes from their interview with director J.J. Abrams.

Abrams confirmed what many of us have already suspected: Kylo Ren isn't a Sith. Abrams also says "He works under Supreme Leader Snoke, who is a powerful figure on the Dark Side of the Force.” Andy Serkis will portray Snoke via motion capture, and although we haven't seen him yet, the voice over from the teaser was by Serkis' character. The director went on to talk about how they came up with the idea for the First Order, the organization that was formed following the events from RETURN OF THE JEDI. What are your thoughts on the latest details on STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS?

That all came out of conversations about what would have happened if the Nazis all went to Argentina but then started working together again? What could be born of that? Could The First Order exist as a group that actually admired The Empire? Could the work of The Empire be seen as unfulfilled? And could Vader be a martyr? Could there be a need to see through what didn’t get done?

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS will be in theaters on December 18, 2015.
