New Shrek Forever After trailer hits the web, makes one long for liquor

Why, why, why do these trailers always insist on using such terrible music? The songs might be fine on their own, but I’m talking about in the context of movie trailers. I mean, I know this is being being geared towards kids and families, but… f*ck, they’re human too! Let’s appeal to their emotions. Granted something like SHREK goes way beyond just needing better music (and mind you, I actually quite enjoyed the first one), but I think you get what I mean. FOOL ME into becoming interested! Isn’t that what good marketing is all about?

Anyway, I have a bug up my ass at the moment, so I’ll stop. Below you’ll find the first full trailer for SHREK FOREVER AFTER. And again, the best thing I can see is Antonio Banderas, but even he can’t charm his way out of a terribly written scene. Ack, there I go again. Go on and check it out for yourself before I’m driven to drink this whole bottle of delicious Jack Daniel’s that’s sitting in front of me. HD is available RIGHT HERE.

SHREK FOREVER AFTER completes the saga (thank goodness) on May 21st.

Synopsis: After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws’ kingdom, what’s an ogre to do? Well, if you’re Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. What’s happened to this ogre’s roar? Longing for the days when he felt like a “real ogre,” Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek suddenly finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumpelstiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it’s up to Shrek to undo all he’s done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.
