New Toy Story 3 poster negates that character countdown

03.04.2010

Tired of waiting for the fill-in-the-blanks TOY STORY 3 poster to clue you in about all the new characters in the upcoming film? Well, BAM check this new poster out (via Yahoo!) which is stuffed to the brim with toys, both old and new.

I actually think we've "met" a great deal of the characters on the poster, but there does seem to be an unfamiliar batch near the top right, which has a lazy-eyed baby doll, a boxy robot (or Thomas the Tank engine?), a glasses wearing...Lakitu, a purple uhh...balloon, and what appears to be a spiky...piece of toast. I'm just throwing possibilities out here. At the bottom we have a pretty standard purple haired doll and a robot that the aliens appear to be worshiping.

When all is said and done, I count thirteen new characters on the board, which begs the obvious question, "WHO IS 14?" Maybe we should send in Leonard DiCaprio to investigate.

Extra Tidbit: What was your favorite childhood toy? Mine was a Wolverine action figure that was missing an arm. I thought it would grow back...

What ever happened to Bo Peep? Woody needs to get down with some of that this time around.

Pretty cool poster. Too bad that stupid cowgirl character (what is it, Jesse?) came along in 2 with Joan Cusack's voice and ruined the entire trilogy for me.

The purple thing is an octopus - you can see him playing cards in the trailer. The spiky toast is a rock type toy, with a replacable cylindrical face - it's sort of like those rock knock-offs of transformers whose name escapes me.

Favourite childhood toy was definitely a Grimlock figure. I wanted Swoop, but could never find him...

11 Years

I've been waiting 11 years for this sequel to come out. I can't wait to see all the new characters. And I see 15 new characters not 14.

Best toys from my childhood:

She-Ra action figure, complete with florescent pink and yellow flying horse!
"Animal" muppet that was a real puppet!
Pull-string, talking Pee-wee Herman!
Giant talking/cassette playing Big Bird!
My mom's old Crissy dolls with growing/retractable hair!

And lego.

Dude, MY favorite toy was a wolverine action figure with an arm missing. It was a weapon X action figure, so he was naked with a bunch of tubes coming out of him..... I swear I'm not gay.

Purple Baloon Thing

I'm pretty sure it's something akin to an Octopus. Look at its tentacles on top of Toasty O'Spikes and Buzz's left arm

Favorite toys

I only remember three of them:
- Some cheap copy of Optimus Prime. Except it wasn't a truck, it was an SUV or a jeep, something like that;
- One of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I don't remember which one;
- An F-14 Tomcat.

Of course, I also played with Legos and Playmobil.

I was all about Jurassic park figures and vehicles and dinos. I loved the Star Wars action figures too. And to the schmoe below me I feel ur pain.. the white and green rangers were SO HARD TO FIND. I also remember that one year that the Power Ranger action figures with the heads that flipped from no mask to mask were hot

K'Nex baby!

K'nex were and still are the greatest thing ever! I had at least a dozen boxes of it as a kid and built tons of shit. Even at 23 years old, a part of me misses them.

My favorite toy was my T-Rex from Jurassic Park. I must say thought that the toy I never got as a kid that I wanted so badly was the white power ranger. My mom could not find one for christmas so it was dissapointing. I also really wanted a Buzz Lightyear but when Toy Story came out, I was at the age toys weren't really cool anymore. So recently I had a quarter life crisis and bought me an awesome Buzz Lightyear and went on ebay and bought me a White Ranger. When I was a child I mostly played

The 14th is a bit harder to find but he's there. It's a robot figure above the peas in a pod. And my favorite childhood toy was actually a Buzz Lightyear (oddly enough). I couldn't get enough of that movie as a kid.

EDIT: I see u mentioned the robot. I don't know which one you're missing.I counted 14 new ones.

Wow, this poster says "We squeezed in as much crap as possible." Amazing.

Anyway, my favorite childhood toy was a Swamp Thing action figure with an extendable arm. I brought that thing with me everywhere.
