Possible details on the size of Spider-Man’s Captain America: Civil War role

Captain America: Civil War Joe Russo Anthony Russo Tom Holland

Tom Holland's Spider-Man will make his debut in next year's CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, and the screenwriters for the Spidey reboot recently said the actor has already shot his scenes for THE WINTER SOLDIER sequel. Many have assumed that the web-slinger will only have a cameo, however if the report from Birth.Movies.Death is true, Spider-Man will appear in a handful of scenes.

Just to be safe, I'm going to throw up a spoiler warning. However, on a scale of 1-5 on the spoiler-o-meter, I'd only give this a 2, meaning reading these rumored details definitely won't ruin the movie for you, but some of you may still want to avoid the report below.

Although Tom Holland has finished filming for CIVIL WAR, he was only needed on set for scenes featuring Peter Parker or Spidey sans mask, and while Parker will only cameo, thanks to stuntmen, Spider-Man will have a few scenes, including "at least one fight that will be jockeying for a spot on the best superhero battles ever list."

BMD doesn't know how many scenes Spidey will be in, but they do say he'll be getting his hands dirty, and that "his fight scene might be the one that really gets fandom excited – not because of how top tier the face-off will be, but because of how profoundly dorky and unlike any other big screen superhero fight it will be."

Well, that certainly sounds promising. But I'm still curious to know if Spidey will actually play a big role in the story, or will just get caught in the crossfire of the battles between Team Stark and Team Rogers. How do you think Spider-Man will be used in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR?

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is set to open on May 6, 2016.
