Possible details on the size of Spider-Man's Captain America: Civil War role

Captain America: Civil War Joe Russo Anthony Russo Tom Holland

Tom Holland's Spider-Man will make his debut in next year's CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, and the screenwriters for the Spidey reboot recently said the actor has already shot his scenes for THE WINTER SOLDIER sequel. Many have assumed that the web-slinger will only have a cameo, however if the report from Birth.Movies.Death is true, Spider-Man will appear in a handful of scenes.

Just to be safe, I'm going to throw up a spoiler warning. However, on a scale of 1-5 on the spoiler-o-meter, I'd only give this a 2, meaning reading these rumored details definitely won't ruin the movie for you, but some of you may still want to avoid the report below.

Although Tom Holland has finished filming for CIVIL WAR, he was only needed on set for scenes featuring Peter Parker or Spidey sans mask, and while Parker will only cameo, thanks to stuntmen, Spider-Man will have a few scenes, including "at least one fight that will be jockeying for a spot on the best superhero battles ever list."

BMD doesn't know how many scenes Spidey will be in, but they do say he'll be getting his hands dirty, and that "his fight scene might be the one that really gets fandom excited - not because of how top tier the face-off will be, but because of how profoundly dorky and unlike any other big screen superhero fight it will be."

Well, that certainly sounds promising. But I'm still curious to know if Spidey will actually play a big role in the story, or will just get caught in the crossfire of the battles between Team Stark and Team Rogers. How do you think Spider-Man will be used in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR?

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is set to open on May 6, 2016.

It would make sense for him to not be as good as a fighter yet considering he hasn't been Spider Man for a very long time in the MCU. So it would make the situation more plausible if he were to screw up a bit when perhaps firing his web shooters or trying to one up Stark or Lang when it came to witty one liners while fighting.

have you forgotten that he is already established? its going to be a small while into his career.

Spidey vs Antman? Spidey vs Iron Man

I want him to have to fight Iron Man or AntMan. I don't see him having good fight chemistry (dialogue during the fight) with someone like Captain America.

comic spoiler......

If they are following a little close to the comics, Parker and Stark are close friends. Stark persuades him to sign up on the Hero Registration Act. After asking what happens to the super heroes who don't register, he realizes Stark can't be trusted, Parker changes his mind on the Registration act which leads to Spiderman fighting Iron Man

Spidey was in 6 pages in the Civil war comics. If they are following that he shouldn't be in the movie much.

I'm not that excited for this because BvS is the superhero movie I'm hyped up about but it kind of seems like Spidey's the Wonder Woman of this movie, a very significant character even know he's not the main focus which of course is Cap and Stark. It's interesting though because it seems 90% of Civil War coverage goes towards Spider-Man.

I think the reason there is so much coverage about Spidey being involved with Civil War is because it's just so exciting to finally have the web-slinger back in Marvel's hands and sharing the screen with the likes of Cap and Iron-Man. I'm not much of a fan of DC, but I am as excited for BvS as much as I am about Civil War.

Oh absolutely, it's more of an observation than anything and I'll admit I'm curious to see this new Spidey in action.

I have to agree with you. I feel that in this movie adaptation of "Civil War", Spider-Man may play the roll of mediator that will bring the Avengers together.. kinda like Wonder Woman and BvS.
