Spoiler: Details on 2 Captain America: The Winter Soldier post-credit scenes

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER opens in just a few weeks so expect more and more to leak out from advance screenings of the film, including tidbits regarding the post-credits sequences that have become a staple of every Marvel movie. We previously heard rumblings what one of the scenes was about and how it connected the film to next summer's THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, but now we have spoilers on the other scene at the end of the film and how it may affect the future of the franchise.

Screen Rant shared the information from someone who saw a recent screening. The detailed breakdown of the two scenes supports previous rumors we have heard. Read the quote below at your own risk. All spelling errors are from the original poster.

Scene 1:

After the fall of both SHIELD and HYDRA we see Baron Von Strucker (Thomas Kretschmann) in his underground laboratory. His men have the scepter of Loki got hold of, as well as two special prisoners.None other than Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). The superfast Quicksilver bounces from one side of his cell to another, while Scarlet Witch few blocks stacks with her thoughts. Von Strucker proclaims that “The Age of Miracles” is near. And thus we immediately know how mutants are listed in the Marvel movie universe.

Scene 2:

We see the Winter Soldier incognito at the Captain America-exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum. Here he encounters the information about James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes. It plays threatening music, but this Winter Soldier seems indeed to have who he really is and that Captain America was telling the truth.

The Quicksilver/Scarlet Witch scene is interesting as it throws Thomas Kretschmann‘s Baron Von Strucker into a much more significant light than we previously knew. The other scene seems to be a direct follow-up to a scene from CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER. With Chris Evans mentioning that he may take a break from Marvel after finishing THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, could the studio be angling to follow the comics and have Bucky pick up the mantle of Captain America? It would be an intriguing decision if they did. At the very least we know that there is going to be a lot of shake-up on AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. following the events of this movie.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER hits theaters on April 4, 2014.
