The next Riddick film gets an official plot synopsis

First, you’ll be happy to hear that the third RIDDICK movie is no longer titled–CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK: DEAD MAN STALKING. For right now, the tentative title is just RIDDICK.

Now with that out of the way, there’s finally an official plot synopsis for the film:

“Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.”

It felt like it hadn’t really been that long since CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, but that film came out in 2004. I’m surprised the third installment wasn’t put together sooner. But it makes sense, PITCH BLACK came out early in 2000. This is one of those series that most likely needs a bit of space inbetween so the stories don’t suffer. PITCH and RIDDICK were both decent films.

I’m wondering how these new alien predators are going to look. Hopefully David Twohy does good on this one as well.
