The Simpsons go LEGO for their 550th Episode

May. 1, 2014by:

Not content to just let their 550th episode idle by, The Simpsons are next to be thrown into the LEGO-verse during their 25th season.  In case you're wondering if Homer Simpson looks fat as a LEGO (somehow he does), here's a peek at the upcoming episode:

LEGOs, being as awesome as they ever were, have infected film, TV and gaming mediums like there's no tomorrow.  As far as I'm concerned, they can keep on going!  As a kid I used to pretend that my LEGOs were Darth Vader or Batman, and now thanks to LEGO STAR WARS and THE LEGO MOVIE, that's a reality!

The 550th Simpsons episode will air Sunday, May 4th, on FOX (8/7c).

I'd watch if it were done with Lego's and not computers. That's how i felt about the movie too though. The golden opportunity for an awesome stop motion movie or show and they blew it.

I think the animation style of the movie was perfect. There were moments where I really couldn't tell that it was computer-generated because so much attention was paid to getting the texture and colours right and I love that the animation style consciously emulated stop-motion animation, and that every little explosion or bullet hit and even all of the water was made of LEGO bricks. It was astounding and I thought it turned out really well. If it were done for real, with actual bricks, the

I mean, I certainly think something like ParaNorman works better than Flushed Away (which was CGI emulating Claymation) but I have no problems with how the LEGO Movie looked at all.

Looks Epic

That almost felt like a trailer for a new Simpsons movie...I catch the show now and again and while it isn't as great as it once was you can't attack the show for not trying new things to feel fresh...absolutely will check this out!

Pretty cool. Haven't watched the show for years, but I think I may have to tune into this one.

Please tell me its like a 60 or 90 minute special!!

Love the LEGO games and this is just so absurd it could work! I just hope we didn't see the entire episode in that 2 minute clip. It seemed to show a lot for a 20 minute show...
