The WB cut trailer for Splice hits the web!

04.02.2010

The sci-fi thriller SPLICE has been around for a few months now (Arrow reviewed it out of Sitges back in October) but Joel Silver's Dark Castle bought the film out of Sundance and set it up at Warner Bros. where it will get a proper release this June. A movie that might've otherwise wound up a glorified straight-to-DVD release at The Weinstein Co. now has a new trailer that will debut with prints of CLASH OF THE TITANS. Pretty cool.

You can watch the trailer now and if you've seen any of the existing footage from the film online, most of this will look familiar. But that's not to say it's not an effective trailer. It's the way it's cut together that impresses me. It's a tough film to sell to a mass audience in a quick trailer but I think this does a pretty good job and conveying the many layers of the film. Take a look below and let me know what you think!

I saw this movie at Sundance, the trailer is pretty revealing but the movie isn't anything special.

The trailer made it look intriguing, but Arrows review kind of does away with the trailers mystery. If I had seen the trailer alone, I would have been much more intrigued, but the review kinda blew it for me.

meh

Looks like Species to me, with just a slightly different spin, and of course Alien. I am sure I will see this but I will not pay to see it. I think they would probably make more money going straight to DVD and not loosing money at the theaters.

Any other Schmoes Vincenzo Natali fans?!

I've been waiting for this film for a long time as a big fan of Natali (been a huge fan of his since Cube). He seems to be one of the most unsung modern filmmakers. There's not even a single mention of huim in the JoBlo article! Thank goodness Del Toro saved this film from floating off into oblivion.

For those of you who haven't checked out much of Natali's previous work, make sure to set a date with Cypher--it's one of the most underrated and under seen sci-fi/thriller spectacles of the

Yeppers

Trailer does look very good. The movie seemed pretty interesting anyway, but this pumps it up a bit for sure.

Very Cool!

Of all the movies I've been looking forward to this year, this has shot to number 1 on the list.

I no longer care for stories about genetic creations being monsters. How 'bout we see something that's a little more psychological and philosophical, and less [link]

I say sign me up man! Looks fun. Del Toro as exec prod; Brody and Polley in a sci-fi/horror... sweet! Plus, this director was responsible for giving us Cube. I'm game
