This morning it was announced directors Joel and Ethan Coen will be the jury president for 68th Cannes Film Festival, and it will be the first time the jury will be headed by two people. The last time the Coen brothers attended Cannes they won the Grand Prix for 2013's INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS, but obviously they won't be bringing their new film HAIL, CAESAR! to this year's festival.

The Coen brothers on being named jury presidents of the 2015 Cannes:

We look forward to returning to Cannes this year. We welcome as always the opportunity to watch movies there from all over the world. Cannes is a festival that has been important to us since the very beginning of our career. Presiding over the Jury is a special honor, since we have never heretofore been president of anything. We will issue further proclamations at the appropriate time.

Besides their 2013 Grand Prix win for INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS, the Coen Brothers also won the Palme d'Or in 1991 for BARTON FINK, and they've received Best Director awards at Cannes for BARTON FINK, FARGO and THE MAN WHO WASN'T THERE.

The rest of the jury and films in competition for this year's Cannes will be announced in mid-April, and the festival runs from May 13 through May 24. The Coen Brothers' HAIL, CAESAR! will hit theaters on February 5, 2016.
