We’ve been talking about BATTLE: LOS ANGELES for a long ass time now. I’m talking months! With no pay off. Well folks… if you’ve been anxiously awaiting this one then I’ve got some good news for you! It starts shooting this week!

And to celebrate The Hollywood Reporter named another seven actors joining the cast! Usually that would be a huge announcement but when the biggest name out of seven is R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo then it’s not much of an announcement at all. Along with Ne-Yo, Ramon Rodriguez, Taylor Handley, Cory Hardrict, Jadin Gould, Bryce Cass and Joey King have all joined the battle for LA. The group join the already announced Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan (below) and Michael Pena.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Ne-Yo (above), Ramon Rodriguez, Handley and Hardrict will all play members of the alien-fighting platoon while Cass, Gould and King all play kids trapped in a community center. Jonathan Liebesman directs the flick about a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his new platoon’s battle against an alien invasion on the streets of Los Angeles. Alright I’m down!

Shooting is set to start this week in Shreveport, Louisiana with a release date already set: February 18, 2011. Since shooting is finally starting on this bad boy hopefully we’ll get more from BATTLE: LOS ANGELES soon.
