THE GIVER is a movie I've wanted to see happen for years, but after watching the first trailer, I'm slightly worried about the upcoming adaptation of Lois Lowry's award winning YA novel. Granted it was a short trailer that didn't reveal much, but visually it just doesn't look how I imagined it would when I first read the book. Yes, I understand that's really more of a me problem, however others I've talked to also feel the same way.

But I'm still quite interested in checking out THE GIVER, especially with the talent involved. The Weinstein Company has released eight new characters for their film featuring said talent, including Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Alexander Skarsgard, Katie Holmes and Brenton Thwaites. Fans of the novel who weren't happy about the amount of color in the trailer for THE GIVER should be happy with these new posters.

"Things could be different. I don't know how, but there must be some way for things to be different. There could be colors…"

THE GIVER, from SALT and THE QUIET AMERICAN director Phillip Noyce is scheduled to be released on August 15, 2014.
