80’s Movie SpaceCamp Set for Revival at Disney+

"Yo Jinx?" Pause for dramatic effect… "Yo Max!" Does anyone remember the 1986 kids-in-space movie SPACECAMP? It starred a little known kid actor who would eventually become our current Joker! The rest of the cast is pretty impressive too: Lea Thompson, Kelly Preston, Kate Capshaw and Tom Skerritt! I'd say the flick is worth looking up, especially now because Disney+ is giving us an updated version!

Saturday Night Live writers, Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell, will be writing the script with John Rickard (HORRIBLE BOSSES, RAMPAGE) producing. Because it's been a long time since the original SPACECAMP orbited theaters, I'm okay with a reboot happening. And Disney+ has been rolling out some great streaming content, so hopefully we will be in for a fun ride!

The 1986 SPACECAMP told the story of a group of young attendees of a space camp find themselves in space for real when their shuttle is accidentally launched into orbit. We have no word yet on when the new version is set to release.
