We're now just thirteen days away from the beginning of the three-night theatrical release of writer/director Rob Zombie's new film 3 FROM HELL, a sequel to his films HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES and THE DEVIL'S REJECTS. To help build the hype, Zombie has been sharing short promos for 3 FROM HELL on his Instagram page, giving quick glimpses of this unexpected-by-many sequel that's coming along fourteen years after we thought the main characters of this franchise had been killed off.
3 FROM HELL shows us that Otis (Bill Moseley), Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), and Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) all survived that climactic shootout at the end of THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, and when the story catches up with them they have spent some years in prison. Of course, they don't remain behind bars for the entire film.
One promo is focused on Baby, proudly announcing that she will be back on the big screen in just a couple weeks.
Another is focused on Otis, who has a question for America: "Did you miss me?"
And another promo Zombie posted focuses on the rejects' time in prison, revealing that they have supporters out in the world who are demanding that the authorities "free the three".
Although Otis, Baby, and Spaulding survived THE DEVIL'S REJECTS and are referred to as "the three" during their time in prison, they are not the titular 3 FROM HELL. The 3 from Hell are Otis, Baby, and a new addition to the franchise, Zombie's 31 star Richard Brake as Winslow Foxworth Coltrane, a.k.a. The Midnight Wolfman.
They are joined in the cast by Dee Wallace, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Danny Trejo, Daniel Roebuck, Clint Howard, Austin Stoker, Richard Edson, Emilio Rivera, David Ury, Pancho Moler, Tom Papa, Dot-Marie Jones, Richard Riehle, Kevin Jackson, Billy Blair, Steven Michael Quezada, Bill Oberst Jr., Sylvia Jefferies, Sean Whalen, Chaz Bono, Barry Bostwick, and Jossara Jinaro.
3 FROM HELL is coming to theatres on September 16, 17, and 18, "featuring the unrated version and unique special content nightly."
On night one, moviegoers will see a special video introduction from Rob Zombie with the first 50 attendees at each theater receiving an exclusive poster (while supplies last), on night two, audiences will be treated to a nearly 30-minute behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, and on night three, moviegoers will experience the ultimate double feature including “3 From Hell” and “The Devil’s Rejects.”
