Bill Burr to reprise his role as Mayfield for The Mandalorian Season 2

After announcing that ALIENS and TERMINATOR alum Michael Biehn has signed on to star in the sophomore season of Jon Favreau's THE MANDALORIAN, we've received word that comedic actor Bill Burr is also set to return to the live-action Star Wars spinoff series. Burr played the Imperial sharpshooter-turned-mercenary Mayfield for THE MANDALORIAN's adventurous episode, "The Prisoner," in which Mando and a rag-tag group of mercenaries attempt to spring an associate from a New Republic prison cell. Burr's Mayfield betrayed Pedro Pascal's Mando by the close of the episode, so it stands to reason that there will be bad blood between the pair when they cross paths once again for Season 2.

In addition to stars like Gina Carano and Carl Weathers also returning to the series, Slash Film revealed that Marvel alumna Rosario Dawson is poised to join the cast of THE MANDALORIAN as Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker's apprentice-turned-freedom fighter. For the moment, Dawson's Tano is expected to arrive on the Mandalorian scene as a guest character, though as preparations for the second season are still underway, there's always a chance that she could be bumped up to a series regular.

Season 2 of THE MANDALORIAN is expected to arrive on Disney+ later this year, though with COVID-19 still a major concern, it's possible that production will be delayed and Star Wars fans will have to wait even longer for the show to make its return.
